THE GENERAL OVERVIEWS

South Africa ,SA is the Largest country in Africa which is located at the Southen parts of Africa. This acts as developed country in Africa where different people of differents religions .language ,cultures and other are living.Due to the country of being as developed country it means that the Educations of this country is also high ,more people who are living within South Africa are Educated.

 

SA EDUCATIONAL BACK GROUND

Education in South Africa has transformed substantially. In the middle 17th Century was the first European school established in Cape Colony. In 1663, second school was opened. Peripatetic teachers used to teach basic math and language. New procedures on school organization were introduced in 1714. Between 1860 and end of 19th century many schools were opened, and new rules and procedures were initiated. Also, basic and higher or tertiary education was structured as separate educational institutions. In 1829, the South African government established South African College, now called as University of Cape Town. During 1984-1990 periods, education was made mandatory for all, but the age varies depending upon the racial groups. In 1996, the South African Schools Acts was put into effect that emphasized on uniform system and in 1997, a new education system called “Curriculum 2005-Outcome based Education” was initiated by the government.

The department which is responsible to manage Educations in South Africa ,SA..

In facts the south Africa has two Department which is used to manage Educations in SA are listed below :-

I) DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING (DHET)

Involved in dealing with higher education and vocational training institutions, adult basic education and training (ABET), and further education and training (FET) colleges.

 

II) DEPARTMENT OF BASIC EDUCATION (DBE)

Dealing with basic education that are  primary and secondary education.



The Educations system of South Africa ,SA

The SA have two Educational System which are Basic Educational Systems and Higher Educational System.The Basic Educations is divided into two types which are General Education and Training (GET) and Further Education and Training (FET) and Also the Basic educational Systems is for Secondary and primary level ,For Primary from Grade 1 to Grade 7 and Secondary from Grade 8 to Grade 12 .

 

Higher Educational Systems ,This act as the last stage of Educations in South Africa it receives the Students from Grade 12 at Secondary level of Educations .After Students finish Secondary level can make Applications for University if he or she makes well in final Exams.

What is Compulsory Educations level in  South African ???

In South Africa ,SA is noted as from Grade 1 to Grade 9 acted as Compulsory educations in terms of Educations systems. Many Schools of Privates and Public teach this grades becauses it is so Importants to Students ,The Subjects involved in this Compulsory Educations are :-

  • Mathematical Literacy, Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences
