THE OVERVIEWS
THE UNIVERSITY OF ARUSHA (UoA)
Situated 32 kilometers from the beautiful city of Arusha, closer to the Arusha National Park and between the towering mountains, mountain Kilimanjaro and mountain Meru, is an institution of repute with its own uniqueness. This institution is known as the University of Arusha situated on 250 acres of land. The only University with grammatical article, ‘the’ which goes with the name for easy identification.
This University, the University of Arusha has gone through what can be termed as educational metamorphosis. It began as a college in the 1970’s with few courses. It later expanded its curriculum to incorporate different academic departments. Later it got a license to operate as a university, and later was chartered by the government of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The University of Arusha ,UoA is guided by the following below factors which are :–

THE UNIVERSITY OF ARUSHA [UoA] ADMISSION 2023/24
A) UoA UNDERGRADUATE ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Degree Programs – Direct Entry
Two (2) principal passes with a total of at least
4.0 points
Degree Programs – Equivalent Entry
- At least four O-Level passes (D’s and above) or National Vocation Awards (NVA) Level III with less than four O-Level passes, or equivalent foreign qualifications as established by either NACTE, NECTA or VETA; and
- At least a GPA of 3.0 for Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6); or
- Average of C for Full Technician Certificate (FTC) (where A=5, B=4, C=3, and D=2 points); or
- Average of ‘B’ Grade for Diploma in Teacher Education; or
- A Distinction for unclassified diplomas and certificates. or
- Upper Second Class for classified non-NTA diplomas.
- Foundation Program Holders
- Holders of a foundation Program from the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) with the GPA of 3.0 from the respective 6 core subjects and at least a C grade from each of the three subjects in a respective cluster (arts, science, or Business studies).
Non-Degree Programs
- Certificate applicant should have at least four passes (D’s) or 3 credits at “O” level
- Diploma Applicants should have a Basic Technician certificate (NTA 4) OR At least one principal pass (E) and one subsidiary (S) at advanced level (form VI) for old grading system. Or one pass (D) and one (E) for new grading system or 3 credits.

LEADERSHIP AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT
Organizations are dynamic and change over time. Having leadership which can influence others towards accepting change is imperative. Leadership is all about influencing and gaining trust of the followers. Leadership plays a critical role in influencing and gaining trust of followers to devote their efforts in achieving a common goal for both private and public sectors.
FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING
Financial Reporting Standards provide a guide on how to present various elements in the principal statements in order to permit comparability, relevance and reliability of the financial statements. International accounting standards board and National Boards of various countries requires entities to apply IFRS in recognition, measurement, presentation and disclosures of various items in the financial statements.
MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP
The training course is designed to equip the leaders, and managers who are presently leading at any managerial positions. The training includes how to develop the emotional excellence skills to lead others and provide strategies for success, how to identify the knowing gap or leadership gaps, how to master leaders/managers own emotions, develop personal effectives and build human relations skills through the 360 degrees leadership and management skills.
